Tell us more about you!
If I am not in the gym or kitchen you can catch me outside with my family and dogs, hunting, camping, and recreating. Fitness for me is all about being always ready for my passions, hobbies, and life. The training is one mental outlet but also how I make sure I am ready for my family, hunting, and any adventure that may pop up.
What made you start competing in this sport? How long have you been competing?
I have been competing in competitive exercise on and off since 2010 in the Open, Individual, partner, and archery type events. I mostly enjoy training but love completing the occasional competition to meet new friends and get uncomfortable.
What do you enjoy most about competition day?
The meal after! My favorite meal is one I prepared for myself from all local ingredients or anything created by Chef C or Chef Mike and team.
What’s your favorite all time workout or movement?
Heavy Kettle bell work or Hill sprints
Have you ever had to deal with an injury? How did you overcome it?
I have a pre-existing back injury from childhood that can flare up with under recovery. Prioritize my sleep, overall movement throughout the day, get in a daily walk of at least 30minutes.
Do you have any advice for first time competitors or people thinking about trying a competition?
Have fun, train smart, and say hello to your fellow competitors. You never know who you will meet!
